86' 22rec with weird injectors

Hi, its been a while since ive posted here. recently my 1986 truck started to loose on power and i discovered the fuel filter clogged up. I told myself i should get it all out, injectors cleaned,...
I found out that i have the 2 hole type injectors, that probably comes from a 89+ 4runner.
isnt there anything wrong of running theses injector on that pre 22rec ? i know it used to have single hole spray type.

Also based on the fact that they spray two steam, i told myself they should be positionned at a specific angle into the intake, like shooting on each side of the valve...am i wrong ?

thanks for any tips.

two hole spray is probably for dual intake valves, not the single intake valve on the 22re.

p/n on them 23250-35030 is realy for 22rec 1988 4runner 192cc so they are "correct" imho, just wondering spray position into the intake.

no 22re ever came from the factory with dual spray injectors, and here is why:

"The most important part of any fuel injection system is the actual injector and its placement. It’s extremely important that the injector’s placement allows it to aim fuel directly at the intake valve. The fuel vaporizes when it makes contact with the hot valve, delivering the entire, finely atomized, fuel load into the cylinder. If the injector is not aligned properly or has an incorrect spray pattern, it will deliver fuel directly against the intake wall causing a poorly atomized fuel mixture, as well as inconsistent and poor combustion."

P/N on them:
23250-35030

thats a huge argument that needs to get verified, now browse the p/n, its a factory part number known into toyota database and DENSO and comes listed from a 88 4runner with 22rec. my truck been running with theses for decades with no problems so far. dont realy need a tutorial about injectors, not yet.

lol... ok, lets try a different tack: I agree with you that alignment of the spray pattern matters, it's a logical observation.

so how come you will never be able to find the answer to that question in the factory service manual?

why doesn't the 22re have a mechanism that keeps the injector in the correct alignment?
