86 22re mods+302 swap question

Hi,

I am brand new to YT and I have a 86 4 runner with 160k miles on body and i am guessing motor as well. I am trying to get some more power out of it like everyone else on here. I have about 2k to spend but i am kinda limited on my mechanical skills.

My goal is to get my truck to be able to power through anything in 2WD and to never bog down in 4 low. Right now I have problems with both. I am running 34's with front and back locked. It has already been regeared, but i am not sure to what. It also has bigger driveshafts in the front and rear, 6 in of lift, and a beefed up steering assembly. The only engine mods are a K and N. The engine runs great as it is.

From what i have read, the only cheapish mods are headers and bigger exhaust , k and N, and a new CAM.

My question is will this give me enough HP to reach my goal?
Is there a T-case i can buy that has 2wd low?
I have also looked into a 302 swap, is there parts i can buy to adapt the 302 to my stock Tranny? Will the stock parts hold up with the increased HP?

If anyone knows of a good post of a 22re to 302 swap while keeping the same drive terrain i would be grateful. Thanks.
