85 EFI onto a 93?

So I broke the thermostat housing on my manifold. Its a 93 22re. I have it all JB welded right now and its holding water but probably not for long. I ran into a deal on a 85 EFI set up manifold and all and I was wondering if anybody knew if it would fit on to my 93.

The head is the same from an 85-93, so fit? Yes! The 85 throttle body points down at about 15 degrees so your intake piping from your air cleaner cannister probably won't fit and the vacuum ports are not the same on an 85 so all of your hoses may not reach a port or there may not be a port for all of them. That might be a headache! You will have to use the 93 injectors they are high impedence, where as the 85 are low impedence.
Seems like an awful lot of work when a new thermostat housing is $28 at Rock Auto! Might even be cheaper at a junk yard.

The lower thermostat housing is part of the lower intake manifold, therefore he can't just buy a new one a store.

Yeah I broke the part of the manifold that the thermostat sits in. The housing that fits on top is good. My bad. I guess I didnt explain it very well. I sheered off one hole side of the manifold all the way down to the hex key bolt that holds the manifold on. The EFI on my truck is still good. I guess I could just use the manifold and then put my EFI components on top if it will fit. I just dont know if its compatible that way.

I see now! Missed the hex bolt! You need a smaller hammer!
Lesson learned!
The fix.
I don't have an 85 it got tossed but the picture below is off of my 86 22rte. I imagine that the 85 and 86 are the same intake. Look at the following picture

[IMG][/IMG]

The bottom intakes are pretty much the same, but notice the 1 & 2 injector ports. In order to fit the injectors they require the spacer and o-ring shown below in the picture. The OEM part #'s for the o-rings are 90301-19006 and the spacers are 90561-10004. The reason I tell you this is that these get very brittle over time. You will have to remove the 85 injectors and install the 93 injectors into the 85 lower intake and you may break these, if so you will have to replace them.
The next picture is the 86 and a 94 intake pretty much the same upper intake flange is the same, but the bypass (hole just off of the thermostat housing mating surface) on the 86 is a pressfit 90 degree elbow. on the 94 it is a threaded straight nipple. I can't see any other differences.

yep thats the kind of help you can only expect from yotatech. thanks for the pics. I lost out on the bid for the 85 manifold but my local junk yard has one from an 87. Im going to go ahead and pick it up now that i see it will work.

For all the BS, I would just have it welded.
