5.29's are to low for 35's
I put 5.29s in my truck about a week ago and have about 200 miles on them with my new 35 12.50 km2's and with the 3.0 they are to low. I am turning 3400 rpms and going 75mph on the spedometer when I am really only going 68-69mph. On my old truck with the 22re the 5.29s were almost two high..... I like having the power though! My gas mileage with 33 12.50s and 4.10s was 12-13 now its 16-18mpg with 35's! So I am pretty stoked just worried about turning so many rpms if I have to go on a long trip. So if you have a 3.0 daily driver go with 4.88s for 35's IMO. I also installed a marlin crawler shifter seat and it made the world of a difference my truck would pop out of first alot and grind going into gears if I wasnt careful now its tight and doesnt grind at all. Plus it only took me 15 mins. total to install it.

I have 4.30's with 31's and as far as highway driving goes, I wouldn't change a thing. It's gutless as can be, but the r's are still pretty high at ~75(can't remember the exact number, but I'm thinking it's close to 3g).

no one's getting my 5.29s! Maybe the front ifs one because I just bought another 5.29 third for my sas and I am getting my axle in the next couple days, so now I just need the cash for the kit! I really like the low gears offroad and the power on road I am just turning a little more RPM's than I would like on the highway, but if I turned less I would loose power...... I dont care that much though if my 3.0 blows I will just put a rebuilt one in and be good to go for another 200k. I wish I had gotten 37's because these 35's are starting to look small already.

4.88's and 35's would be a dog.
The speedos are never that accurate anyways. And im sure your tires are on the small side of 35". The 3vze likes to rev, it has great power between like 2900-3800 in stock form.

I always here people think the 3vze is a dog..... I dont get it mine rips! I can pull hills in 5th gear and go 70 with these 35's and 5.29s. With stock gears and 33's I could pull 70 by just down shifting. These 3.0 will smoke the 4 cylinders!
