5.29 rear pinion bearing

i was in the process of replacing the front and rear pinion bearings when i noticed that the rear bearing just slid right off. its supposed to be pressed on and off right? if thats the case, do you think the bearing has just gotten stretched or do i need to get a new pinion as well? ive searched for about an hour trying to find what brand gears i have, with no luck! the numbers on the pinion are as followed.. 14283 t529 g10. im clueless.

try the new bearing if it is snug but still slides on fairly easy you may be able to use some sleeve retainer on it to keep it from spinning. how does the surface look on the pinion, is it worn from the bearing spinning?

Sorry, its shot. Its supposed to be tight for a reason. You could have a machine shop knurl the pinion shaft so the bearing is tight again; but its not going to be centered properly and will fail anyway. Best thing to do is buy new gears. Pick a brand or buy from a reputable dealer. Also see Zuk's website, he has his favorites and you cannot go wrong following his advice.

trail gear has good gears, I think they are the same as the nitro gear. i have tg 529 and the quality was good on the gears and they setup good too.

5.25? Did you mistype and mean 5.29?
