4runner removable top question

so i just took the removal top on my 4runner for the first time and noticed there were only 8 bolts holding it on "no wonder i could here it twist over certain terrain " just wanted to confirm that there should be 14 bolts holding this thing on and that all the bolts are the same size and length ? also the holes that were missing bolts is it possible the threads are gonna be a little tough to screw a bolt in because i cant seem to screw them in by hand ? just wondering if i should get it started in the threads then put a ratchet and socket to it with a little pressure , i dont wont to mess up the threads , any one have this problem ? thanks.

i wouldn't try threading into those tough spots with a ratchet and force things. i would suggest inspecting the threads and cleaning them up before trying that. ideally, you should chase the threads with a tap and some oil. if you don't have one, you could try a wire rotary brush on dremel (or even a spare bolt) after soaking the hole with penetrating oil to loosen up the corrosion.

One bolt is longer for the safety interlock that kills your rear window motor.
Its on the drivers side maybe second from back.
