4runner Rear heater hard lines rusting away!
Hey All!
I was just doing some stuff under my 92 4runner and noticed (THANKFULLY!) that the hard lines that run to the rear heater are flaking away and weeping some coolant.
I want to fix this, as I use the rear heater quite often. I am NOT paying $100+ for the OEM hard lines (part #PIPE SUB-ASSY, WATER 87248-89130)
So...I have read on here that some have used soft coolant lines to replace these hard ones. I plan on doing this, and just re-routing them so they don't go over the top of the exhaust.
What size coolant lines do I need to get? I'm guessing 1/2" as mentioned by 4crawler, but his was a 1st gen and mine is a 2nd gen...I have NO idea if there is any difference between the gen.'s.
Thanks for any info!
Jason
