4Runner mirrors on pickup

I have a 1991 Pickup with power and wing windows. I have a pair of 4Runner mirrors that I would like to put on because I am tired of the small pickup mirrors. Has anyone ever done this? I'm concerned with the wires hanging out Here a picture of my truck..

Your replacing with Non Power mirrors ??

You would just unplug the mirrors and be good.

Depending just where the plug is you might need to slide it back in the cab then most pigtails are pretty long

Maybe put some tape on the plug to keep the dirt out in case you ever want to go back to power mirrors

I have used electric mirrors to replace manual mirrors. I just left the plug inside the door and never hooked them up. I am not as familiar with your generation from the 4Runner to truck mirrors but think they would interchange.

Great looking pickup. I have the same pickup in a 90 model, same color, you cant beat red and my stripe package is a little different. Is you interior tan? I to dislike the small mirrors so I'm curious how this works out for you.

Spray a little Silicone on the grommet then pry the grommet loose slide it all back into the vehicle .

It is old and brittle needs to get softened a little

I have a 94 4x4 extra cab and I've wanted to ditch the little mirrors and replace with larger 4Runner mirrors also. But I never attempted it. My main reason was because the small mirrors can be bumped and then need to be realigned, but the larger 4Runner mirrors move within the housing/assembly so a bump won't affect them. Please post how this works out for you and pics of the 4Runner mirrors when installed.

Nice looking truck! What wheel and tire setup do you have there?
