4runner leafs beefier than pickup?

Doing a rear leaf swap in my 2nd gen, wondering if I should source some runner leafs rather than pick up ones for the extra weight?

If you're going to all that fab work anyways, why not go with a longer leaf, like 63" chevies?

x2, go with chevy springs instead, they provide great flex and great ride. Not to mention the load capacity.

I'd definitely go the Chevy or Mazda route if I was you, but as far as I've seen 4Runner leafs and pickup leafs are the same. You could always get two pairs of leafs and cut down/add in an extra stock leaf or two to beef them up, probably a good idea for a 2nd gen Runner.

2wd chevys will give you around 2-3" of lift over stock. 4wd is around 4-5" (plus shackles).
