4runner 4.88 diffs in 93 pickup

Ok im currently swapping diffs in my 93 pickup, with 4.88 ones i got out of a 94 4runner. My question is when swapping the axle tube on driver side because i have manual hubs, did anyone add an oil seal in there cause the 4runner diff doesnt have one on that side or just swap tube and go? Thanks!!

are you switching from an add diff to non add or from non add to add? It depends on which way you are going.

Non ADD axle seal goes here on the diff: (IGNORE the finger pointing, you can see the seal on the diff)

If you are running ADD, no seal there so that the ADD actuator and stub axle gets oil:

bigger view of the ADD axle without the seal.

Awsome. I thought so but wanted to make sure before i put it together. Thanks. Are the axles usually stiffer going back in, they poped right out of carrier but test fitting back, they didnt want to just slide in.

yeah that spring C clip has to compress, just give a good whack with a dead blow and it will pop back in place.
