4 runner seat help plz!

Hello,

I am having a hard time finding a good set of front seats for my 88 4runner and was wondering if anyone has discovered another seat that would be compatable?

Cheers!

With how much trouble, if any?

From what I can see the mounting brackets must be changed........

Did they bolt in? Or were modifications needed to be made?

for an 88? probably some modifications are required, but if you had a 89-95 pick up or 4runner they swap despite you having a bench, 60/40 or other bucket seats.

I am only looking to swap out the driver and front passenger seat as the back seats in all these 4runners are 90% mint.

Thanks for the heads up!!!

So yes, i do have a 88 4runner: Am I correct in what you wrote; seats from a 90 4runner will bolt right in without modification?

Thanks!

they might, i said. I dont know for sure, i've never been in a 1st gen 4runner, its really not hard to drill new holes. I know 89-95 and 90-95 trucks have completely inner changeable seats. but why not try it?

I pulled a set of SR5 seats out of a 94. The drivers bolts right up. The passenger needed new seat tracks or rails as they are shorter that the 95. Plus the 84-89 seat brackets have the push foot push button that moves the seat forward so the back seat passengers can get out. Very easy to swap them out.About 20 minutes.

Good luck.

I sure did, and wow those are cheap. I live on Vancouver island, Canada where there is an abundance of 4runners with blow head gaskets, etc. but not for 500 bucks.

I passed the idea onto the gf about having a parts truck in the drive way and all I got was a look........so no go!

FYI - Good quality seat covers off the internet will set someone back min. $250. Unless you are happy with flapping, non tight fabric you could pull it off for under 100 bucks.

If i was rich - http://www.autoanything.com/seat-cov...A4610A0A0.aspx
