3vze startup hesitation

Last week I attempted to start my 3.0 4runner and when I turned the key it started up for a brief second and died. I tried to start it again and it would just crank and crank without actually starting. I replaced the coil wire (which was pretty bad), distributor cap & rotor, and plugs. When I took the intake off, gas pour out and it apparently was a badly flooded engine. I tried to start it this morning and it did the same thing but I was lucky enough to roll start it. Basically, if I don't give it a little gas when I start it, it won't seem to start at all and apparently floods. Other problems which may/may not relate: It's throwing a code pertaining to the O2 sensor or EGR (California emissions). and I have a very bad coolant leak at the water pump (which I'm fixing this week). Thanks for any suggestions!

Hmm, cold start injector? Try unplugging its wire and see if you can start it without it flooding.

Good idea! What about a temp sensor sending bad information? Anyone else have a clue?
