Angry 3vze no fire need help

today i replaced my 3vze ecu because of previous shifting problems that it fixed but it decides to stop running all of the sudden when we check and have no fire ? any ideas we have voltage on the coil. But idk how to check igniter

You can't check the ignitor. Here's the FSM troubleshooting procedure: http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/1990-1995...e/onvehicl.pdf

What do you mean "have no fire"? Have you used a timing light to check for spark pulse on any plug wire? Is there fuel on the plugs?

we pulled the coil wire off the distributor and stuck it next to the frame on a good ground with no fire..... i will check into that link thankyou

when the truck is cold it will fire up and run and you can drive it as long as u want nut when u shut it off it wont fire back up im thinking fault in new ECU , igniter , or coil i believe coil is good tho as it dont leak any ideas? i appreciate it

Sounds like a bad coil to me. Running when cold but cutting out/quitting at running temp is a common sign.

but i drove the truck for 30 miles and it didnt miss hesitate spit or sputter or nothing but as soon as you cut it off and try to restart it has no fire from the coil pack? i really thin k its the computer as it didnt do it till i replaced it you know?

What exactly was it doing for you to replace the ecu? Normally that's one of the last steps I'd take as far as fixing a problem.

As far as the coil being bad, you could have an open in the coil windings. As long as it is running, you could have a good connection but once you shut it off it loses contact. Try tapping on the coil with a small hammer or screw driver handle as you try to start it.

new update:called parts store where we got it and the guy said the computer needed to be returned and flashed for my truck? anyone ever heard of this?

yota-somehow it got shorted out i still dont know how.... but it was making the transmission act stupid its an automatic and when it went to shift from first to second the engine would die and if u went to fast in reverse it would die lol

The ecu shouldn't need to be flashed. That's mostly an American car issue. Just as long as the part numbers matched exactly you should be alright.

small update we decided to try another ECU as it would be free to replace first and may fix this issue but i wont know untill Wednesday or thursday ill keep yall updated on what happens
