3vze Ignition Timing Short Problems / Any Suggestions?

Everyone, first off, this site has been the best thing to happen to me during my top end rebuild. Thanks to all the contributing members, as we are all lucky to have a resource such as this one to access the collective yota brain trust.

The story goes like this... After recently completing my head gasket rebuild on a 1991 SR5 pickup, I have been having difficulty tracking down an issue with my ignition timing. I have jumped the T1 & E1 terminals which should kick down the idle, but it did nothing. The truck is currently ideling at 1,300 rpms. The mechanical timing has been verified as accurate. To try and problem solve this issue out, I recently replaced the TPS sensor and verified that the new unit is within its specifications. Even with the install of the new TPS, I am still having the problem. Further compounding the issues I am facing, is that when the TPS is pluged in, the truck "bucks" sporatically when driving. I tried unplugged the TPS which to my understanding sets the computer back to its base setting and the bucking stops. I have been driving the truck with the TPS unplugged for awhile, however I am having issues now, espically when going up hills. Its like the computer is trying to sense where the throttle is and it is retarding the acceleration in 4th gear especially. A mechanic buddy of mine told me to plug the TPS back in and start uplugging other sensors connected in line to the computer and throttle position sensor such as the temperature coolant sensor etc. He said this may identify the source of the short. I tried this and have not had much luck. Anyone else out there ever experienced this issue? Have any other suggestions? Hopefully the brain trust can come through one more time...

For all the help, I'm posting below all the links I've saved during my rebuild process, which may be of help to someone else in the future. Sorry for its length, and some are better than others... Enjoy!

Before you start checking electrical stuff, you might want to check for a vacuum leak.

Make sure your timing chain isn't a tooth off

Thanks for the thoughts. Luckily sold the beast to hopefully a better gear head than me, so not my problem anymore. Stepped into a 06 tacoma double cab and loving this 6 cylinder motor. If I went back to the the 2nd gen truck I would definately opt for the 22-RE. I'm done messin around with the 3vz-e dog after all my experiences...
