3vze cold start rough idel
so i have a 89 toyota pickup with the dreaded 3.0, my problem is when i go to start the motor when it is cold it will start and run with a very rough idle. the only comparison i can make is it runs like a carburated, cammed motor starting in the cold. i have been told by my buddy that this is due to a bad automatic choke. just coming here to get another opinion. ill post a video of it starting in the morning if ya need it. also when i give it gas it takes a second then revs then when i let off it will bounce from 300 rpm to 900 rpms, sometimes it dies and takes 3 to 4 tries to start it up again. thanks in advance, if you need anymore info let me know

you have fuel injection so there's no choke like a carburated engine. Sounds like it could be your cold start injector which gives some additional gas to your engine when it's cold. It's on the passenger side of the engine on the plenum. Check this thread out: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...switch-225787/
