3.0 rebuild, acceleration problems...HELP!!!!
Ok well let me start off by saying, I sunk my truck while wheeling. I tore it down and rebuilt the motor. I bought the master rebuild from engine builder. Rebuilt the motor yada , yada....
this brings me to tonight. I was finishing up tuning the motor and doing a tune up. It statrs beautifull, idles good....... but when I push the gas it will go to about 3000 rpm then cut out for a second, then go back then cut out. It comes right back but it will not do anything else. I advanced the timing using the distributor. All this does it just make it idle higher. I am thinking I may have a vaccum problem and or a timing issue? Could it possibly be an o2 sensor. I have checked everything else that I could think of. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a TPS issue. You have to adjust it very carefully, or if you have a multimetre you could use that as well. I'm not sure of the specs, but I'm sure there in the Toyota Service Manual.
