If I replace my stock springs with the FJ80 coils in the rear, and add the sdori 1.5" bj spacer, will the below components work well? Specifically, will the shocks be long enough?

2- OME N72F- Nitro Charger Rear Shocks
2- OME N98 -Nitro Charger Front Shocks
1- OMESD33 Steering Stabilizer
1- OME 303003 Torsion Bar Set

I also plan to add a 4" panhard drop bracket and extended brake lines from marlin.

Let me know if this sounds good.

Did you drop the diff (then needing to drop the sway bar) at all to help the CV angle? www.4crawler.com has some pretty good set ups and info for about everything you need for a ball joint lift.

I ordered a BJ spacer lift for my runner and coil spacer lift in the rear. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Once I started getting into the lifting part it became much more complicating then previously thought. What kit didnt include but needed: Extended brake lines front and rear. Diff drop. Sway bar drop kit front and rear. Shocks need to be replaced as well. Some cutting needed to be done with the BJ spacers. All in all. It comes to $600 after parts and alignment. Halfway to a 4" pro comp lift. Might as well save.

you'll be happier with all those parts than with a 4" lift...

On another note, I keep seeing adjustable upper/lower rear links for fj crusiers and newer 4runners... I have been hoping to find a set for our generation but have had no luck. Anyone have any insight? Or I'd love to be convinced that I don't need them....

I would have to agree....check out 4crawler.com if you haven't already. He'll get you set up with everything you need at a very reasonable price.

I've gone to 4crawler with many questions and he is ALWAYS extremely helpful and informative.

Everybody has a different idea of what they'd like to see with their rigs for sure, but a properly installed BJ lift (unless your personal liking is to go bigger) will be awesome. Although $600 is halfway to a pro-comp lift, it's still $600 that you could put towards other internals and/or externals to continue progressing your 4runner in the direction you want to see it go. I've seen ruff country with 3-4" lift kits for around $600-$700 and have heard good things about the product.

Although it may be frustrating to try and piece it together, a BJ spacer lift can turn out great if all the pieces are acquired.

Just something to think about, hope it works out for you and remember...have fun with it!

The rear coils are STOCK fzj80/fj80/lx450 coils. you can get them out of any of them.

the front is ball join spacers.

thanks man, so If i find the coils, and the bj spacers, do i need anything else? What exactly is the panhard drop bracket? I assume i need 0-4" longer shocks? sorry for all the questions.

I have lifted fords, chevys, jeeps, and a tacoma, never a 4runner...

Tryna figure out where I can find these ball joint spacers for a good price for a 94 4runner also what exactly should I look for if I'm lookin for these land cruiser springs? What year and all? Anyone able to give me some advice?

Not to post whore either, but on a few of my older vehicles (1st gen pickup and a couple 1st gen 4Runners) I used two front toyota flexible brake lines coupled together (male and female ends conveniently enough) to make an extended rear brake line. I bought them at NAPA on the cheap, compared the price to stainless and saving gas money or shipping made it worth it. Never had a problem. I won't be able to say for sure that this will work on a 2nd gen 4Runner but I am quite sure it would Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. I did it on an 84 4Runner and a 1980 toy.

1.5" BJ spacers
FJ80 Coils

Skyjacker front shocks -SKYH7054
Skyjacker Rear Shocks - SKYH7024

Total cost:
~$250 including the 35 dollar rebate on the shocks and the 20% on sale.

Have you installed the Skyjacker shocks yet? If so how do they ride? Anyone else that is running them please chime in.

I am likely purchasing a 92 this weekend and I am looking for a super cheap lift for the truck. The truck will only be a weekend camping warrior and winter beater so I want to keep prices down.

I would like to keep my lift low, 1" front and OME medium's rear and run 32x11.5's.

Forgive my lack of knowledge on the 2nd gen's, I only know about IFS taco's and 4Runners. Are the panhard and LSVP needed for a mild lift like I am planning?

If you're thinking of doing just a 1" lift... I'd either:

Front:
A. Crank the Torsion bars 1", buy some new shocks
B. BJ spacers, relax the torsion bars, buy some new shocks.

Rear:
A. 4Crawler 2" rear coil spacer

I haven't installed them yet, and they probably wont be installed until Saturday or Sunday. Anything will be better than the shocks i have on there now... Les Schwab Specials - they have close to 70k miles on them of wheeling, daily driving, and smashing the dunes at pismo.
