2nd gen 4runner power mirror switch

I can't get the wiring clip back onto the power mirror switch for the life of me. Can anyone post pictures of how this is supposed to fit?

You might want to be a bit more specific.

I have no idea just what a 2nd Gen is??

This is the same connection you just unplugged now you can`t figure out just how it goes back together??

A 2nd gen is a 4runner made between 1990 and 1995. 2nd generation of body style. I took the plug off when I painted the car back in July. When I went to plug it back in a couple weeks later after finishing painting, I couldn't get it in. I tried for a long time and i just can't figure out how it is supposed to fit. I gave it another try today with no luck.

It is keyed (or notched) it will only go in one way. keep rotating 90° and it is inserted from the bottom

next time be more specific in your thread title or add your truck to your signature

I had a plug like that I couldn't figure out. Instead of plugging end to end one kinda laid over the other one horizontally. It was in the door panel of a 94. Might can get pictures if you need them. panels are off dealing with outside door handle rod, picking up clip from Toyota tomorrow.

Thread bump: Power mirror plug not fitting. What am I missing?

I am working out the gremlins in a new to me 91 4Runner 3.0. The drivers master switch panel was missing so I found a good used one on eBay.

The power mirror plug is confusing me; you can see in these pics that the 2nd row of connectors on plug are too short to connect with the switch. What’s the deal?

I think Papawellie answered your question. rather than try plugging the end of the connector into the switch plug it in from the side.
