thinking of puting 265/75/r16 on my 88 runner,ive done alot of searching..for the rim backspacing bolt pattern/bore hole size....4 inch backspacing.. is this correct...?
my stock 88 4runner....6x139.7/12mmx1.5/106.0mm
67-87.....chevys are.....6x139.7/12mmx1.5/108.0mm, as well as some others that i found....
soon to have bj spacers and a zuk mod....but right now i have 4:10 gears ....will these be ok....dont do much of any, rock crawling or wheeling....not much driving on the highway...just back roads and hunting/bush buggy

I need to get a couple better pics. I just upgraded to 265/75/16 Duratracs. Currently sitting on a zuk mod and BJ spacers and 4.56 gearing. Unsure of the numbers on the backspacing, but I have it sittin on a set of 2001 4runner rims and have no issues whatsoever.

The 4.10's will be a little sluggish, but will do fine, since you don't sound like you are gonna use 5th gear much.

Meh pics are crap, but should give you an idea. Backspacing sits the tire right at the fender line.



Can't see much here, except I guess ride height with the springs and spacers. The pic is deceiving, it actually has a slight rake to it.

Wish I'd found those instead of the ones I've got...

On topic~ 4" of BS will work fine, don't go with any more than that. I went with 4.75" on the advice of the wheel tech and had to buy spacers to clear the upper control arms, when the suspension drooped the tires rubbed. I'm running 285's with 4.56 gears so your 265's with 4.10's will be similar. I too can't use 5th gear much anymore but it's ok for around town and short runs on the highway.

should i swap to 4:56 or 4:88...would still like to have the option of using 5th gear and driving on the highway... hahaha...

I have 265/75/16 with 4.56's and my speedometer is right on. Ever plan on going up to 33's? Go 4.88's. If you are gonna be good with these then 4.56's will be perfect.

Hmm...2854 miles from here to there.. plus 2854 miles back home....5709 miles,,,,20 miles a gallon is 285 gallons @ 3.75 a gallon (here atleast) is $1068.00. plus the 150 for the wheels.......................

I'll pass.

I will keep looking around and might stumble upon some soon. Problem is less people change their wheels on the 4runners than the pickups, not many out there to be found.

kiyobrown.... are your 2001 toyota rims from a 4runner and are they oem or aftermarket...thanks... called toyota and can get 2001 stellies for 86$ a peice

They are from a 4runner. OEM. I picked up T100 center caps to go with them from Nix99 bc they sit right up against the face of the locking hub.

done some more research via the "search button" and the web...
found out that 86-02 toyota 4 runner rims have the same bolt pattern,lug size and borehole size...but cant find anything on the backspacing for these years....
if anyone has info that would be greatlly appreciated...
also can we post info from other web sites on here..?

Stock wheels: 15x6 steel 3-3/8" back side spacing (on '85 and earlier wheels) 4-3/4" back side spacing on '86 and later wheels, 15x6 steel or 15x7 alloy Center bore diameter: 4-3/8" ID To fit over front hubs which are approx. 4-1/4" OD And of course this implies a lug-centric wheel since the center bore is larger than the hub 6 on 5.5" bolt pattern M12x1.50 thread pitch studs
