22re swap questions

Alright... i just pulled a motor/trans out of a 94 pickup and I have a couple questions that i couldnt find the answer for in the various swap threads on here and other forums. First is do you have to hook up the speed sensor in the manual tranny for the motor to run properly (not in limp mode)? the off road solutions site says its recommended but not necessary. I heard the sensor is wired through the gauge cluster. Could it be wired directly to the ECU since this motor is going into a desert truck just so the computer gets some signal that its moving and doesnt throw the code? Also what did most of you do with the open circuit relay for the fuel pump? I was thinking about bypassing it.

I've done one of these... Best advise, Pull out everything. Wires leading to and from the ECU and fuse box, the wires leading to the front left side to the lights. Any and every relay, switches. ect. You don't have to worry much about the rear harness. I took a 22re from a 94 and put it in my 92 22r that was efi. When converting it back I had to do everything I mentioned above. The open circuit relay... I bypassed that with a holley pump. lol. I also took the guage cluster from the 94. I got my truck to start but the money ran short and I'm hoping to have it done by september. I hope this helped you...
