22RE Stumble

When I let off my accelerator to maintain a speed, say 30mph in 3rd gear, my engine noticably stumbles...

Any idea what would cause this?

Anyone...?

I am not sure if it is related, but I cannot believe it's not. Last night Kiyobrown and I swapped intake/battery and put an 82 Supra MAF on... Now this is happening.

Help, please.

The best thing to do is go back to the stock se up and see if the problem stops, if it does then you have found the problem.

I appreciate your response, but I really don't have time to do that...

What could have happened during the swap that would cause this? Could it be that I am running too lean or rich? Could it be from the exhaust leak that I found?

Thanks a lot,
Alex

So... if you are accelerating, then release the throttle slightly to maintain speed, the engine stumbles? What I mean is that you're not letting the throttle close when transitioning from acceleration to cruise?

How are your engine mounts?

I may be letting it close. Sometimes while driving I will just let off the gas completely. I am noticing that I am starting to feel like an idiot. Would my driving style be causing this? haha...

I believe my engine mounts are fine. I will have to check to make sure.

Thanks for your reply,
Alex

If the mounts are weak, they could let the engine shift when going from accel to decel and that could be felt like a misfire or stumble... and the trans-mount can do so as well.
Another thing to check is the dashpot on the throttle body. If you rev the engine up to 2000 and hold it for a second, then release the throttle, the dashpot should hold the throttle slightly open for a second or two before letting it close. If the throttle suddenly closes, the AFM could slap shut and cut off fuel which could be felt as a misfire.

How bout that huge hole in your muffler? Or the back window that just won't make it up all the way? I got it..... Its the new hubs!!

Don't talk crap about my new phone!!!

Weird, Abe brought up the dashpot. Maybe your blue dashpot could be causing it all. Guess there is more crap to check on your rig, huh?
