22re start up problems.
So upon start up the engine sounds like a disel. Real lobey at idle. (if that makes any sense) Then if I try and drive it it runs terrible, power seems to come in and out in and out. But after I drive it for like a mile or so it evens out and everything is fine. And if I turn the engine off, and right back on the engine runs fine. Before this it had done this for a while upon start up but would quickly even out, so I didnt think much of it. Any one have any ideas of what it could be?? Cold start injector? Regular injectors? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Problem I thought was solved was not solved. This morning I go to start my truck and it does the same thing. So I turn it off, mess with the plug wires a little bit, start it again and it works like a dream. Then tonight I start it again and its doing the same thing again. So I mess with the wires for about 30 min, (Putting old ones on, making sure its a good connection ect.) to no avail. So the only thing I could do was drive it home. So I start driving pretty briskly because at higher rpm's it runs fine. Then after a while sure enough it evened out and started running fine again. So I guess I am back to square one. So I am going to return the wires I bought (dang used ones autozone passes off to be new ones) and going to try a new cap and rotor. Since I have never replaced it since I have had the truck. Wish me luck.

I would actually give your exhaust/emissions components a good once over. Oxygen sensor, egr, but most notably the catalytic converter. The combs in there could be clogged up or super restricted! You could jam a broom handel through the length of the cat to bust out the combs and really let her breathe!

So I went and got some NGK wires, and a new cap and rotor and nothing changed. If I rev it up to about 2k rpm for some time it will even out and I can be on my merry way. Which kind of leads me to believe it might be the dizzy..Ill prob end up taking it to a shop here in the comming weeks to see if they can figure it out. And the cat is new. Has like 2k miles on it.
