22re Runs very rough after driving on highway

I have a 88' pickup with a 22re and basically everytime come from the highway to a stop, like at a red light, the truck runs really rough, feels almost like a misfire or like a real vacum leak, but if i let it sit or drive away it stops idling rough and goes back to normal, any ideas?

Might be the EGR valve is sticking open. When it is idling rough, pop the hood and tap on the EGR valve body to see if that will free up the stuck valve. If it helps, that is the culprit.

Could also be the throttle position sensor not telling the ECU you are idling so it's still looking at the O2 sensor for feedback tbut he O2 isn't responding properly.
