22RE leakage question
Hello all. Tried the search but must not be using the correct terms. Got my 22RE rebuilt about 15,000 ago and it has now started leaking engine oil at the junction of the head, block, and timing chain. What are the most likely causes and is there an easy fix without ripping it all back apart.
Thanks...
Thanks...

got any pics? that would help a bunch
does it drip oil when parked? is it all over the engine bay, or just in that one location?
check the following:
-front half-moon plug
-head gasket at that junction
-distributor
-timing cover gasket

prolly timing cover gasket. thats a tough junction there with 3 parts coming together at one 90deg. corner. many people replace the cover without ever loosening the head. my attempt at that resulted in a smashed head gasket(it extends to seal between t-cover and head) sound likely for your case?
a leaking front crank seal can get oil slung in places that you didn't know there were places. engine running and skidplate removed is the only way to verify if its good or not. a slow drrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiippp coming from inside, behind, under, (however you choose to describe) the crank pully

powerwash,drive ,inspect.....
p.s if the engine was in fact re-built,i would pull the valve cover, check the hidden bolt,in the very front in the small puddle of oil and make sure its tight to specs, also check the half moon gasket in the front, even reseal it.
