22RE hesitates on accelleration when cold, smell like raw fuel
I have an '88 22RE. When I go to start it when its dead cold, it takes a few seconds of cranking to fire. Then when I goose the throttle it hesitates and seems like its missing. almost like the timing wont advance. it also smells super rich. once it warms up, the hesitation goes away but it still smells rich. the codes 12 and 52 were stored in the ecu. I am stumped. any ideas???

Hook up a pressure tester to the fuel and run it. Check the pressure then shut it off. Watch the pressure it should not drop off. If it dose it will most likley be a leaking inj. That would explain some of the gas smell and the hard start. Hope this helps you...
