I think two of my heater pipes are on their last legs... the driver side one coming off the timing cover and the one that wraps around behind the block coming from the intake.

I order new stainless ones from 22reperformance.com

I'm not worried about replacing the driver side one... I have a header and plenty of room.

I am concerned about the passenger side one as it disappears under the intake and I've been unable to feel where it goes.

First, does anyone have any pics of where this pipe mounts to the intake?

Second, what are the tips for replacing this in-vehicle? Should remove the starter? Remover the upper intake?

All suggestions greatly appreciated.

It bolts to the bottom of the intake with two 10mm screws and can be a royal pain to access. It has a bolt to back of the head with one (12mm I think?) and I have to access it from the passenger side and really stretch. You cant see it, just have to feel for it.

It has a rubber seal and is right below the water temp sensor. I access it from the front, working above the ac compressor.

I just put this all together. Yep two 10mm screws under the intake and one 12mm on the back of the head. I remove the passanger front tire and access panel in the wheel well to get to this. I also dab a bit of silicone on the O-ring and stick it up top in the manifold. I had a past experience just putting the O-ring on the pipe and bolting it in were the ring didn't seat properly in the manifold and it would leak. The bolt on the back of the head is on the drivers side at the bottom of that "EGR" plate. It's a pain for sure. I used a ratchet wrench and sacrificed a goat to deal with it.

Thanks guys! I looks like if it gets tough, I can pull off the upper intake plenum and it should be a lot easier to handle/route.
