22re fuel pump or maf issues?
1990 22re 5-speed 4 banger.
so i put some sea foam in my engine (wayyy too much seafoam), and i take it down the road to blow all the smoke out. i have it in neutral while rolling down the street, revving it pretty high, when bam: truck shuts off. The engine cranks and sounds like it wants to start...but it wont. from looking through other threads ive narrowed my possible issues to a fuel pump, or a maf sensor problem. (my maf box looks like the previous owner cut it open, and rtv'ed it back on. so its been messed with before)
im in over my head here. does anyone know what the issue is?
ps already replaced the starter, alternator, and fuel filter.

ill check the plugs tomorrow, i was going to replace them anyways.
im trying to check the fuel pump, but i have no idea how to read codes or whatever, i tried connecting the +B TO FP with a safety pin, but im not sure what i was supposed to expect. put the key to start, got down by the tank and couldnt hear anything...also pulled the "to tank" hose off the charcoal canister. shouldnt fuel come out when cranking it? because nothing did.

There's no shame in taking the truck to someone who fixes them for a living.
B+ to FP with the key-on will run the fuel pump, even if the VAF, COR, etc. are fried. So it sounds like your fuel pump is out.
The line from the canister to the tank is for vapors; if you ever get fuel out of that you've got real problems. You could remove the fuel return line from the fuel pressure regulator, but since you plan to be pumping gasoline all over the place that's just too dangerous to even contemplate.

ok, so its the fuel pump. disconnected the line leading to the fuel filter, and nothing. also checked the plugs, they've seen better days but they should be fine. i cleaned them just in case. would the fuel pump be a junk yard type deal or should i check an auto parts store? maybe ebay. anyways thanks everyone, ill keep you posted.
and im located on fort stewart georgia. which is in hinesville ga, near savannah.

ok two questions
1. would i be safe just buying the fuel pump, or do i have the get the sending unit as well? Its about a $100 difference.
2. is the fuel pump for the efi v6 the same as the 4 banger?
