22re Fuel Injector Wiring Issue
I thoguht maybe I scared my Injector into worknig yesterday. I bought a mechancis stethoscope to listen to the injector and make sure the injector I have issues with is defiantely not working. I crank the truck up and listen. #1 one is ticking away jsut fine. I lsiten the #2 that "was" not fuctioning ( dead cylinder, good compression, spark now looking into injector) and the injector was ticking. I reposition stethoscope and listen to #1 again, same ticking. I then notice the engine is running real smooth. Give it some gas at the throttle body and it revs up and down real smooth. I pulled plug wire in #2 and it ran rough. So now I have a fine running motor.
My question is, to those who had the "splice" go bad in theri harness, where they also have sporatic injector operation? I plan gonig into the harness to examine the splices and i expect to find corrosion, I am guessing the wires are expanding and contracting with the weather so now the injector fires, tomorrow it will probably be dead. I am just looknig to see if others with the bad splcie had symptoms like this, or do injectors just go bad.
Thanks

I ended up replacing the wire from the splice and the ends that plug into the injectors on my 86 4runner 22re... There was a ton of corrosion in those spices. I found the ends on summit racings website.
