22re Cutting out!! Driving me nuts
I have a 1992 22re. This problem started out as a 1 time stumble on the freeway and has slowly gotten worse, now to the point to where it i pretty much doing it all the time.
Its drinving me crazy, while driving the engine will cut out and come back to life, causeing the whole truck to buck, it is very similar to the surging when you have a high idle and are on the brakes in these trucks.
Sometimes it is worse and sometimes i can barely get the truck to move.
its pretty hard to describe so i took some videos.

I had a problem with a 22r dieing at high speed. When I was on the freeway doing, uhm, 65, it would diestartdiestartdiestart until I slowed down.
Turns out it was rust in the tank cloging my fuel filter. The filter looked like it had mud in it. The engine was starved for fuel.
I would check all the fuel lines for cracks--especially the return lines, and replace the fuel filter. Might be worth checking the screen in the fuel pump. Also, maybe the fuel pump is cutting out.
I am no mechanic, so I don't want to say I know what is going on--I just think these things are worth looking at.
Good luck!
