22re cuts out only when crawling up steep hills??
My 88 pu developed this really strange issue. Was off roading yesterday and every steep uphill I climbed my truck would cut in and out and sometimes stall. When I got to the tops it would continue to do so for about 30 seconds. My only guess is that there is something wrong inside the fuel tank and the pump Is sucking in air when going up steep hills. And yes my tank was full. Anyone else experienced this or have any ideas??

When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter ?.

The fuel filter probably has only 15K miles on it. If it was the filter wouldn't hesitate intermitently on all types of terrain.??? Any other Ideas?

Clogged cat? Air filter? Plugs, wires?

Guessing the CEL is off or you would have mentioned it.
