22re clutch fan wont shut off

My '87 runners clutch fan wont shut off while im driving and its driving me crazy! Any ideas what would cause this?

The fan always turns to some degree. The fan clutches are known to wear out and, at times, lock up to where the fan always turns at a high speen even when not needed.

You can rebuild the fan clutch (there are threads here) or replace it.

go efan you wont regret it. It frees up a little bit of power, I used to be able to feel the truck slow down going up hill when the fan engaged, now it doesnt do that. I am happy with my setup. its all in my build thread.

Sweet thanks man, now would I ever have to worry about water or mud with an efan, and where did you get yours, I was just lookin at the lc kit, their pretty reasonbly priced

i used the ford taurus 2speed fan and a control for it from dccontrols.com the fan was about 40 at the wrecking yard and the control was 145.00 but i like it better than the relay because it soft starts the fan so you dont get that huge draw on the electrical system when the fan turns on. so far it is running good and you can put a switch in the cab to shut it off for water crossings.
