22re bogging
Hello, here's the deal
I swapped out a 22re from an 92 4runner i used to have and installed it in a truck, the engine ran fine when it was taken out of the 4runner 2 years ago...
Right now I know of one problem i have, the knock sensor is not plugged in, broke the wire right at the pluggin and will have to find another wire at a scrap yard or something to splice into it.
The engine runs fine for a thew minutes but once i start riding it around after a couple minutes it starts to bog... Like i can give it a bit of gas to rev it but if go over 1/2 throttle and keep it their it almost dies and starts throtling its self agan and dies and etcetc...
If i shut it down and fire it back up its fine again for a thew minutes and starts doing the same thing again. Any ideas??

Okay. If the engine ran fine in the other vehicle, but is F'd up in the new vehicle... must be something is different between the new and the old, no?
Time to start sleuthing....

Engine is the same, as should be the engine wiring, with maybe the exception of the knock sensor: some have them and some don't for whatever reason.
Why did the truck need the 4Runner's engine? Truck blew a head gasket maybe?
You checked the catalytic converter on the truck? Plugged cat will do exactly what you describe, and a blown HG can take out the cat.
Disconnect the converter from the engine, tie the pipe up and out of the way and drive it. What happens... besides being really loud and annoying?

i will be removing the cat soon...
I got the truck real cheap because the engine was making some horrible clunking sounds, i think a valve is gone or timing chain skipped a tooth or something of that matter had absolutly no power and wouldn't stay running.
The engine i already had ran great and was from an old small block chevy swap project i did a thew years back, it also has a bigger cam

well lol no power cause i couldn't even get it to rev cause the engine was about to self destruct, the engine thats in right now runs excellent, not even a knock one of the best 22re's ive ever seen run, i think it might be the battery connections... gonna be changing them tomorrow i have a hard time keeping one of them tight
