22re. any of you have this happen?

alright so went to go and spray some carb cleaner and clean out the intake. well after taking the tube off and start the truck and it wont start? do these motors really need that much vacuum that it wont even run without the intake tube being on there?

Yeah I did that years ago, scared the c--- outa myself for a bit. In the airbox is the vafm, which registers airflow for fuel control. With no airflow, it will not energize fuel pump and won't start. No worries. Just hook it back up, and it'll be fine.

Oh, and watch just shootin carb/throttle body cleaner into it. In some cases it could mess up your throttle position sensor.
