22R Front Crankshaft Seal Question
My dad's pickup has a fairly severe oil leak from the front crankshaft seal. He needs to know if the seal can be pushed in from the front or if he needs to tear the front of the engine apart and remove the cover to replace it. I appreciate the help

Remove the crank pulley, it's behind it on the front of the oil pump.
also, check to see if the pulley has a worn groove from the old seal, if it does, the new seal will leak.

seal is fully replaceable from the front. only need to remove the pulley/dampener and old seal, then install the new seal and/or sleeve if required in accordance with the above information.
if you're having problems removing the bolt holding the dampener in, an appropriate sized socket and breaker bar which reaches the frame on the right (when standing in front of the vehicle) then a few subtle twists of the ignition key should break the bolt loose. Then it's just a matter of coaxing the pulley off the shaft. (make sure to remove all the v-belts first)
