22r Crank but no start

I've used the search function and read a bunch of threads with similar questions, most people seem to suggest checking the coil pack and the igniter. I have checked the coil wire and I am getting spark*got shocked in the process * . Next thing to check would be the plugs, wouldn't it? I'm getting fuel to the carb as well. Could the carb itself be bad? The guy who owned it before me installed a weber, but it doesn't look like it's in the best shape. I've only owned 22re, so I have no clue when it comes to carburetors.

Any and all input, would be appreciated.

Actually, to clarify, I have got the truck to start. It takes awhile to start and I have to have the gas pedal held all the way to the floor, but it will start and idle. Problem is when I shift into to gear, I have to make sure my rpm's stay in 1.5k+ or shift to neutral. Anything lower and it will dive bomb and stall. Really weird issue. I'm not a great mechanic, but my uncle is pretty decent and even he is confused by this

Sounds to me like your fuel mixture is off or your ignition timing is off. Or could be as simple as fuel flow is restricted, maybe a dirty filter. Look at your spark plugs, they will tell you a lot about whats going on in there.

Thanks, looks like the previous owner moved the fuel filter from the original location. Noticed a big rust patch over there. Funny, my 88 never got any rust on the frame, yet this 92, seems to have had a cancer scare. Need to sand blast and repaint, but I digress. I found the fuel filter. Fuel is getting to the filter, but the pump is also taking a long time to prime or cycle. Whatever you want to call it. I hope it's the filter and I can just cough up the $7 at napa

Yeah. Tested the pump, and it was bad. Switched it out. Ran like crap. Noticed the fuel filter inlet was pinched due to the way I setup the new hose. Switched to a metal fuel filter and it's been running decent. I need swap out my weber carb. Thanks for your help, buddy
