22r carb issues
Got a stock (Aisian) carb on a 22R motor, which I just replaced. (Carb is originally from the previous motor which blew.)
I've played with every screw and choke setting on the thing I could find, and it still won't idle. The p/o had a Weber setup on it and plugged up a whole mess of vacuum lines which I am currently trying to figure out what goes where, and it's driving me nuts. I have a shop diagram of the stock vacuum lines but I can't make heads or tails of it.
A mechanic pal of mine told me he's pretty sure it's a vacuum leak somewhere and suggested that I just plug up and/or remove EVERYTHING except the dist. advance lines and the hose for the brake booster. I live in an area where there's no emissions or smog testing, so that's not an issue.
Does anyone know what ports or lines exactly I can get rid of or plug up on this thing that might help me get it to idle, or should I just go ahead and rebuild the carb?
Any help or suggestions would be great!
Thanx guys... MM

^^^ without looking at your reply first, that's the first thing that came to my mind, especially if the previous owner had a weber on there without that solonoid.
