1st gen 4runner rear window problem and driveline harsh metal squeak
Ok so I have 2 problems with my 88 4runner...
The one that i hate most is my rear window... it rolls up from inside and outside and will roll down no problem from outside when the key is in the tailgate. but when im inside, if the window is rolled up into the weather stripping, it wont roll down... But if its rolled down just below the weather stripping it will roll down no problem... weird? Ya! it will roll down no problem no matter what postionion the rear glass is in when the key is in the tail gate, but when im in the cabin, if the window is rolled all the way up, it will not roll down. if its bellow the top, right below the weather stripping it will roll down from the inside.
The other problem is a harsh drivetrain metal on metal squeak. I have no idea what it is, it only happens when the truck is in gear though. It happens when im in first and im coasting or usually around 2500 rpm. I took it on a long trip after i greased all the grease fitings in the drive shaft and it seemed to go away but when i got back home the sound came back. The sound usually is most profound in 3rd and 1st. Its got a new clutch and bearings, new engine too! any suggestions on either of these two problems? thank for all your time guys!

Where does the noise seem the come from? Front? Back? Side? Under? At idle? Neutral rolling?
You can try cleaning the swtich contacts and connectors to help with the inside switch issue.

For the window, the contacts look clean, i have taken it apart and the wires look fine.
As for the harsh squeak, ive taken my dad who is pretty mechanically inclined for a ride, he said its in the drive line. it seems like its coming from the middle so that doesn't exactly help. There is no vibration when im driving. when its in gear and turned off the driveshaft has no wiggly room but when its in neutral the noise can be slightly heard and almost seems to be coming from the rear transfer case yoke. I have a haynes manual and a search button but none have really seemed to help

Hmm.. at this point its kinda hard to tell unless like i'm there
Does it get louder on turns or bumps? Could very well be a rear wheel bearing... and or front.
Video?

Awwww crap... haha that really stinks haha. That would make sense i guess. I replaced my engine due to a mud hole incident where the car got burried in mud pretty deep. I had the engine out and looked at the throw out bearing and thought... naw haha its fine since it had only been like 300 miles since i put in all new stuff. Looks like i need a free weekend! thanks for your diligence. From your sig, you have a very clean looking 4runner=)
