Does anyone have a picture of the transmission speed sensor location?

As usual, to get the right answer, you must first ask the right question.

There are two speed sensors, eponymously VSS1 and VSS2. VSS2 measures the speed of the transmission, for shift points and the like. But that doesn't give you the speed over the ground, because you have a 2-speed transfer case. So VSS1 is after the transfer case, and is used for the speedometer and cruise control.

Perhaps this will help.

Thank you. The problem I'm having is once my truck starts warming up is not down shifting into 1st and 2nd gear and my O/D light starts flashing on my instrument cluster. After doing some research, I've found that it could be the transmission speed sensor or the solenoids. I'm going its just the speed sensor because I believe my solenoids are inside the transmission itself.

O/D Flashing. Hmmm. I'll bet your transmission is trying to tell you something. But what? http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...31diagnosi.pdf

(What kind of "research" DID you do?)

Turned out to be an electrical problem. Some wire by the oil filter. I also drained and replaced the differential fluid in the front and rear.
