1995 4Runner EGR and Failed Texas Emissions
Hello All,
She failed emissions on dyno test. Ran a diag on her and got:
EGR Faultor Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor Fail
EGR Vacuum solenoid valve circuit OR Mechanical Fault
Module Fault.
What I have done so far is pulled the EGR and soaked it in Chem dip but not exposing diaphragm to chemicals. I sucked on vac line to demonstrate the diaphragm IS in tact.
Pulled the temp sensor and cleaned it but want to know what resistance it should meter out at.
Pulled the tube that goes into the intake and cleaned it really good.
Any suggestions are welcomed and want to the resistance spec on the temp sensor.
Also where the heck is the solenoid?
Cheers,
Marcheetah

Who ran the diagnostic? You? Someone else? Is there a written report? HOW did the "diagnostic" come up with this very vague conclusion?
You say it failed Emissions; how? I'm going to guess high NOx, but the other numbers (along with the pass/fail threshold) tell much of the story.
Any CEL? A problem with the gas temp circuit, or the EGR VSV, SHOULD throw code 71.
As with any problem, the FIRST place to start is the manual: http://web.archive.org/web/20100326114721/http://personal.utulsa.edu:80/~nathan-buchanan/93fsm/engine/77exhaustg.pdf
