1994 SAS rig with 2RZ-FE/R151F=244:1 coming soon
Background: I have a 1994 Toyota 4x4 pickup that I bought in 1999. It has the 3.0 V6 and R150F 5-speed. I did the SAS last year with a 1980 Toyota front axle, V6 third members with Yukon 5.29's and Lock Right 1620's. I am running 37" MTR's. My 3VZ-E has 220,000 miles on it, and has a burnt #6 valve. It has almost no power, and fuel economy is non-existent. Because of the cost of rebuilding the 3.0 or getting another rebuilt 3.0 and the lack of power that it would have (150HP/180TQ) I decided that a newer 4 cyl would be better:
2RZ-FE (142HP/160TQ). I found one for sale complete with the harness, 2WD transmission(not to be used) complete harness and ECU, and exhaust system for $600.
Parts:
1998 Toyota Tacoma 2RZ-FE with 42,XXX miles on it. $600
1987 Toyota R151F turbo transmission and case (traded a Remington 870 Wingmaster for it.)
Marlin Crawler 2/3RZ-R series tranny bellhousing $399
Competition Clutches 1620 sprung 6 puck race clutch $375
rebuilt 23 spline top shift transfercase $350
23 spline crawl box with dual adapter $500
FROR crossmember $299
Still needed:
motor mounts
30 spline Longfield axles
chromoly rear axles
I don't have engine mounts yet, and I will need to have a custom exhaust system that wraps under the engine/tranny so that the exhaust can go from the manifold which is located on the right side of the engine and meet up with the rest of the exhaust on the left side. I will also need to lose the 2pc rear driveshaft and replace it with a 1pc, as well as as redo the front driveshaft with a longer one.
My rig is next in line to be done. I will update this thread as things happen.

Should be a pretty sick build not to mention the power to weight ratio is really good with that motor. Anything is better than the 3.0 and I dont care who disagrees with that cause its the sad truth
Cant wait to see the work begin
