1994 4 Runner 5 speed swap cruise problems
I have a small problem with finishing this swap. I bought this 4 runner after I found out my 98 runner had a rotted frame. The hg's were blown and the drivers side head had the cam journals wiped out. I fixed all the engine problems and decided to use a 5 speed from a 1991 that I wasn't able to sell. I had the remains of the 1991 and all the parts to swap into the 1994. I had a couple of issues with the electrical and 4wd but most of them have been resolved thanks to this forum. The last is the cruise control, it just doesnt work now. I swapped the speedo drive for an electronic one and the speedo works now. Could it be that I dont have the clutch pedal switch hooked up? To get the truck to start I crossed the two bigger gauge wires on the auto transmission harness (black wires, one with a white stripe, one with a yellow stripe). Maybe if they are making a connection at all times it is canceling the cruise thinking the clutch is pushed in?? If anyone could give me some direction that would be greatly appreciated.

problem fixed
I crossed the wires on the auto transmission harness under the truck and that circuit being closed at all times would cancel the cruise control, so I ran those two wires through the clutch pedal switch and it works fine, its probably safer that way.
