1994 22re no start HELP!!!
I picked up a 94 pickup 22re 5sp the other day cheap thought it would be a quick fix. I was told it would run then quit so they parked it for a year.
So far I have replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel sending unit, plugs, wires, and oil. I was not getting injector pulse so I changed the pickup in the distributor and now I have injector pulse. The truck will sometimes fire up and run and drive great then nothing. I have tried swapping the ecu with the same results. For a while if I would block open the AFM it would run (rich) but it would run. now it will not do anything but crank. The motor has compression, fire, and, fuel with good pressure. I dont want to give up but I dont know where to turn.
This morning I unplugged the AFM and it ran (rich) for a while now nothing.

How did you get it to run with the AFM unplugged, the AFM is what tell the fuel pump to turn on ?. Check the TPS to see if its good and adjusted properly. When i got my 86 4Runner it would only try to start if i sprayed carb cleaner into the intake, the solenoid resistor had gone bad and wouldn`t let the injectors work, i replaced it and was good to go. I don`t know if your 94 truck has a solenoid resistor, but if it does then check it out.

Today I put in a friends afm with the same results so I put the old one back in and decided to take the throttle body off and clean it. It was pretty dirty but I got it clean and blew out all the vacuum lines and pull the TPS off it looked ok and tested good. When I put it back on I set the tps to center postition ( not sure where its supposed to be set)
Put it back together and she runs great a little less power than I would like but when I brought her back home I turned it off and back on with no problem.
Now later today all she will do is crank but not start up.
Any ideas?
