Wink 1989 Toyota pickup throttle position sensor help!!!

I have an 89 Toyota pickup with a 3.0 v6 in it and I'm stumped on the throttle position sensor I bought a new one for it and installed it but when it's plugged in the throttle just cuts in and out but when you unplug it the truck runs fine You

I've been out there working on it and found out first off the throttle body on it is the wrong one the one on it is off of an automatic with cruise mines a 5 speed without cruise it looked like whoever had it before me rigged it somehow so I bought a throttle body for a Manuel trans with out cruise and that seemed to have helped and as for the sensors I bought one that was different than mine I got all that sorted out but it still smells kik it's adding to much fuel
