1988 4x4 truck extra cab back seats?
I was looking to buy a 1988 4x4 extra cab truck but i heard that the extra cab does not have back seats and that you can't put any back there? Anyone know if i would be able to get some seat to put back there?

The 1984-1988 Toyota Xcab truck did not ever come with a back seat option. They started offering the back seat in 1989, but lets be realistic here, not many people can fit in that tiny space.
If you want rear seating options and still want that body style, you have a few options. First, switch to a 4Runner. Basically the same exact front end, rear seating. Second, find a Toyota Custom Cab truck. An aftermarket company (such as Winnebago) modified some Xcab trucks into long cab trucks with 4 seats and a decent amount of room. Plus, you get to keep the bed portion, a plus for anyone doing any real work. The big drawback? Very limited production.

ok thanks alot guys i think ill just go with a newer model. I only need the seats because i have to take my brother and sister places and have to have somewhere for them to be buckled in so it doesn't matter how much room there is back there. Just needs to have seats and buckles haha

My '90 xtracab has 5 seatbelts.
It totally works great with five people. You get two people in the regular seats, two midgets without legs below the knee in the back, and a midge without legs that likes getting the shifter jammed in his balls in the front middle.
That is, I don't really understand what was going on when Toyota did this. The Japanese may be a bit smaller, but not that much smaller.

i can fit one person in my X-tra cab (if i take out my sub and amp) they can sit at one side and stretch their legs out to the other..not comfortable..but if i have to haul a 3rd person..i can..i recently seen a California King cab for sale in Kansas...cant remember where at..seen it on craigslist..thought about getting it as it look to me like it had a SA..it was 22re 5spd, blue, front and rear smittybuilt tube bumpers, and a solid axle..which i would say 1985..would have been the PERFECT trail rig for me..if i had the $5000..lol
