1987 pickup 4x4 troubles

So the truck drives straight and turns fine in 2wd without the hubs locked in but as soon as you look the hubs in it likes to pull really hard. Like so hard you can't stop it. And it doesn't get any better when you're in 4wd, or in the sand, mud or clay. Nothing helps.

This is the last thing that is bugging me and id like to fix it.

when is the last time you took apart the hubs/wheel bearings and cleaned and greased? just a thought.... mine kinda did the same and when i took it all apart well lets just say it all got replaced. mud/sand and grease doesn't lubricate very well!!! grease is cheap, parts not so much. (i found out the hard way) well hope all goes well! curious to see what ya come up with. good luck man

Red face

:jessica: By pulls hard do you mean to the right or left??

Well if it only does this with the hubs locked I would think you have a problem in the front axle .

Have you put this up on jack stands so the front axle is off the ground and with the hubs locked moved things and looked it over??

How long has this been happening ??

What they said Lubing is never a bad thing, well it is if you lose parts or tend to break things. Getting it up in the air will let you get hands on and feel whats going on. Maybe one side isn't engaging, or they're just dry and/or nasty, or all three!
