$12 ElCheapo Budget Boost Installed With Pics And Butt Sag Fixed!!!
So Friday I was in O'Reilly's to look for a new am/fm antenna and ran across this-
It's part # 18-1901, made by Superior Automotive, front round base coil spring booster. It's made out of a medium-hard type of rubber. I measured the diameter inside and outside, took a look at my rear springs, and said what the heck. They cost $5.99 apiece.
Had been planning on replacement springs to fix my butt sag, this would do for a temporary fix. Took 3 1/2 hours by myself, with no spring compressors. The trick is unhooking the sway bar & panhard drop (bar??), then standing on the axle while reaching down and trying to twist and coax the springs...Trust me, if I can do it, you can do it
Before measurements, rear top of rim to bottom of fender-
driver- 12", passenger- 12.5"
After measurements-
driver- 13.5", passenger- 13.5"
I leveled it by using the factory spring isolater on top of the spacer on the driver's side, and no isolater at all on the passenger side.
I know these spacers were not meant for the 4runner, and it is tricky to get the spring to fit inside its grooves...but YOU TOO can fix your rear sag for
12 BUCKS!!!!
