Worst case scenario is you'll have to pull the plugs out, let the starter crank, and do an oil change. Your ignition system might get loopy too. But the overall motor can be submerged in water and fight another fight in time.

It'd be easier to just shield your air filter to prevent being splashed, unless you're running in water over the hood.

G'day buddy, that is one tricked out 4runner... Those filters on ya snorkels, is their purpose to stop water getting in? If so do they work and are they a specific type of element? If not what have you got as a water drain?
Thanks.

sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but has anyone got underhood pics of a 22r snorkel? i'm interested if people are attaching directly to the carb, or to the aircleaner. does the aircleaner seal well enough to the carb to keep water out?
here's last weekend:

Now this is what I have been looking for. I will try to find the equivalent of a home depot over in London once I pick the rig up for the rally or....I could try packing PVC piping into my bag when I am on the plane over to England..... I think Flight security has seen stranger things brought on a plane, thanks for the ideas guys
