85 4Runner won't start when it's cold

I have an 85 4Runner with the 22re. I just replaced the engine and not it won't start without spraying ether in the intake. Once it's warmed up it will crank first try. Any suggestions?

I have never had a bad Cold Start Injector to go bad. The culprit has always been the Cold Start Injector Timing Switch. It is the brown sensor on the Intake Manifold just under the Throttle Body.

In some cases I just pull it out and get the hard water build up ff of the sensor using a brass tooth brush. If that wont fix it, get a Haynes Manual and run test on it. You can stick the sensor in the freezer and run some resistance checks.

I'll try that and see if that's what it is. I do have another question. Once I get the truck running it idles perfect but once I put it in gear and give it gas it just wants to bog down. What could that be?
