Ties? Size?

Tiers? Size?
I have an 83 ish cab truck with the 22r on propane and 36's and stock everything else. I plan on new 5.71 ring and pinion with 4.7:1 t case twin stick kit. I was just wondering how big a tier I could run before it'll snap stock axel shafts. I also plan on hydro stear and cromeolly shafts as well. Thanks for the input and advice

1983yota69 I do have the tiers on it with stock leafs lol but it doesn't have any finders and it has a homemade frame with bed and it looks like it is going to clear ok I'm still building it so I haven't flex tested it yet but you will be the first one to know when it does. I don't have any pictures at the moment but I will get you some. But I will say that it looks a hell of a lot better with the 36's on it instead of the 31's it had on it

I'm pretty sure that I'm going with 5.71's because everything I've read or been told on the subject is that the ring itself is not weak but the amount of teath that mesh at the same time is less than the 5.29's and that is where everybody is saying that it is weaker however if the ring is just as strong then as I see it it's not a problem. But I might be wrong and I am always open for suggestions.

Yea you've heard the same as me, if it was me and you were never going to run anything bigger than a 36 than I would run a 5.29 due to the 5.71 teeth being weaker. I just order my 5.29 yesterday. I'll make sure I'll tell you what I think about it. Anything is better than 3.91 which is what I have now.

I run 36" IROK's and drive summer trails and snow wheel hard on the rev limiter. Still running the stock front shafts for like 8yrs now(my marlin shafts are herein the shop to be installed someday). I run an automatic with duals behind a 2RZ and 4,88's. Its just how you wheel how long things last. Without a clutch to rev up and dump.
