Hey folks, I am relatively new here, with an 82 short bed 4WD. It's a pretty good running truck, but was the victim of a pretty amateurish engine and tranny transplant from a 94 4Runner. I'm trying to clean up some of that now, and one thing I am looking at is the way the power steering was installed. Hopefully you can see from the pics that the reservoir is basically ziptied to the brake master cylinder. I'd like to remount it, but from the other pics I have seen, the traditional place to put this is pretty much where the aftermarket intake air filter sits. I am thinking that maybe further back on the inside of the driver side fender, toward the firewall, might be a good place. To do this, what do I need to do? Get some longer PS hose (what size and spec?), some clamps, and basically bolt it to the fender? I assume I will need to bleed it afterwards as well. Any advice is welcomed, and thanks!

Remount further back than the traditional location, which is currently occupied by the air filter?
I would get rid of that junk air filter and go to a stock box and just build a new intake tube .. your sucking HOT air into your engine , and this is not good for "performance" .. then you will have the room

Thanks very much Slacker, do you have any pics of the stock box installed? Just replace that one with one from a standard 94 4 Runner, that will fit in there? Also, how do you go about building a new tube? I'm new to Toyotas, my other car that I restored some time back is a 1974 BMW 2002tii. Wyoming9, I see what you're saying. I'm not really looking for a garage queen here, just a bit tidier.... Thanks!
